Alsóbogát is located in Somogy County 23 km north of Kaposvár the seat of Somogy County. It is accessible in the Kaposvár - Fonyód road in a four-km interconnecting road starting at Somogyjád. There is a 2.8 km-long path interconnecting the village with Somogygeszti. If this path were covered with pavement the village could be accessible from road No 67, through Mernye. Railway connection is 6 km far from here in Somogyjád.
